Graeme, Kirk & The Butchers...

Okay, I love Graeme. He's one of my favourite characters at the moment but there is one thing I don't understand. When Ashley was having trouble at the Butcher's when he employed Kirk, he had to let Kirk go. If I am correct, I'm pretty sure Kirk still hasn't got a job and then Ashley went putting a sign out for a job in the butchers which Graeme took! Why didn't he give to Kirk? There's my little rant...It would be great if someone had an explanation!
